Orlando Patrick ‘Mash-ee’ Green

Native American Church services for Orlando Patrick “Mash-ee” Green, 84, Lawrence, will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Sarah Jessepe’s home on the Kickapoo reservation west of Horton. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Swah-Kah-Ah Cemetery on the reservation.

Mr. Green died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at Lake View Nursing Home, Lawrence.

He was born March 17, 1918, in Mayetta, the son of Frank Young and Jose (Shobney) McKinney.

Mr. Green was a retired maintenance worker for Haskell Indian Nations University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Potawatomi tribe and Native American Church.

He married Julia Jessepe in 1948. She died June 8, 1985.

Survivors include two sons, David Masqua, Horton, and Calvin Masqua, Lawrence; four daughters, Bernadette Masqua, Horton, Geraldine Green Casey, Coolidge, Tex., Karen Masqua Cadue and Jeanette Green, both of Lawrence; an adopted son, Mann John Falcon, Black River Falls, Wis.; an adopted daughter, Lucy Wabaunasee, Hinton, Okla.; a brother, Paul McKinney Jr., Dallas; a sister, Alberta Marshno, Mayetta; 41 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today or Saturday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton.
