She was born July 23, 1927, in Lawrence, the daughter of Miles and Sylvia (Cline) Owens. She was a lifelong Lawrence resident and graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1945.

She retired from the Kansas University telephone office in 1997 after 24 years of service.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She married Harvey Hagen Dahl. He died earlier.

Survivors include three sons, Yngve Dahl, Kansas City, Kan., Michael Dahl, Graham, Fla., and Peter Dahl, Lawrence; one daughter, Diane Brown, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
