Frank Joe Nadvornik

? Bonner Springs — Services for Frank Joe Nadvornik, 85, Bonner Springs, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonner Springs United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens in Shawnee.

Mr. Nadvornik died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at his home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1917, in Cleveland. He had lived in the Bonner Springs area since 1950.

Mr. Nadvornik was a brakeman and conductor for Santa Fe Railroad until he retired in 1980. In 1975 he joined the Bonner Springs Fire Department, where he became a captain and the oldest active volunteer.

He was a member of Bonner Springs United Methodist Church, Bonner Springs Masonic Lodge and past member of Czech-Slovak Club of Kansas City, Kan. In 2001 he won the Marion Vaughn Community Service Award.

He married Irene McGuire in 1945. She died in April 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Lawrence, and Dennis, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Jerry, Wickliffe, Ohio; three grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
