Mary Eunice “Toots” Warsop

? Services for Mary Eunice “Toots” Warsop, 97, DeSoto, will be 7 p.m. Friday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. Inurnment will be in Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.

Mrs. Warsop died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 9, 1905, in Linwood, the daughter of Charles Chester and LuEmma (Anderson) Curtiss. She moved from Linwood to DeSoto in 1936.

Mrs. Warsop was a homemaker, and she worked as a riveter on P-38 planes at Lockheed in Burbank, Calif., during World War II. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in DeSoto.

She married Lester Warsop on Dec. 28, 1937, in Olathe. He died Dec. 11, 2000.

Survivors include four sons, Glenn Bowers, Topeka, Roy R. Bowers, Eudora, Monte Bowers, DeSoto, and Ron Acton, Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Mary Gay Dunkin, San Marcos, Tex., and Martha Ray Warsop Carpenter, Lawrence; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

A son, William Bowers, died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
