Governor’s mansion to close for transition

The administration change between Gov. Bill Graves and Governor-elect Kathleen Sebelius temporarily will suspend public tours of Cedar Crest, the governor’s residence.

Cedar Crest tours are free and have been conducted on Monday afternoons for several years. Visitors spend about a half hour looking at the first floor of the house and hearing some of its history. Groups must be older than third grade to attend.

The last chance for a public tour will be between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23.

Tours will resume upon notice from the Sebelius administration.
