Political pandering

To the editor:

I must say that I am disappointed by a local junior high principal attacking the honorable stance of one of our school board members. The comments by the principal toward the board member were quoted in the Journal-World as “It was political pandering at its finest, aimed at playing to the sentiments of (the) no-growth, no-tax-at-any-cost element of our community that is dedicated to preserving the past with little regard for the future.”

I want to point out to young junior high students this is a classical political attack to divert from the real issues that concern the people about the shutting down of community schools. In fact, one could make the argument that this junior high principal is anti-growth in older neighborhoods and is pandering to new growth.
