Big 12 Women: Texas Tech cruises against Wyoming

? Cisti Greenwalt had career highs of 26 points and eight blocked shots to lead No. 10 Texas Tech to an 84-64 win over Wyoming on Saturday night.

Greenwalt, a 6-foot-5 sophomore, shot 10-for-13 from the floor and finished with seven rebounds for the Raiders (4-1). Plenette Pierson and Jia Perkins each added 14 for Tech.

Ashley Elliott scored 18 points to lead Wyoming (4-2), which shot 16 percent in the first half. Carrie Bacon added 16 points and Ann McColl 10.

Tech, which made 11 layups and shot 61 percent in the first half, led 44-20 at the break.

The Raiders shot 56 percent (35-of-63) for the game. Wyoming shot 32 percent (20-of-62).

Greenwalt scored nine points to help the Raiders speed to a 25-4 lead just over eight minutes in.

Elliott hit a pair of three-pointers and two free throws in a 12-3 run by the Cowgirls, who closed within 28-16 at the 7:46 mark.

Texas Tech closed the first half with a 16-4 run. Greenwalt scored eight in the surge. Tech extended its lead to 27 three times in the second half and never let Wyoming closer than 18 points.

Greenwalt shot 7-for-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from the line to score 18 points in the first half.

No. 15 Oklahoma 68, TCU 64

Fort Worth, Texas – Chelsi Welch scored 16 points, including six straight late in the second half to put No. 15 Oklahoma ahead for good, as the Sooners rallied to beat TCU.

TCU took a 58-57 lead on Tiffany Evans’ layup with 4:04 left. Then Welch hit a pair of free throws then two straight layups to give Oklahoma (8-2) a 62-57 lead.

After both teams hit free throws to make it 65-61, Tricia Payne hit a three-pointer for TCU (3-5) to close the gap to 65-64 with 14 seconds left.
