Marjorie Bellinger

? Services for Marjorie Bellinger, 83, Wamego, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego. Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery.

Mrs. Bellinger died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego.

She was born Nov. 20, 1919, in rural Pottawatomie County, the daughter of Leonard A. and Gertrude (Humholtz) Brunkow. She attended Greenwood Elementary School and graduated from Rural Wamego High School in 1938.

Mrs. Bellinger was a homemaker and owned and operated Ted’s Motel with her husband from 1952 to 1967. She worked at Wamego Drug Store for many years and played semipro basketball with a women’s team from Oklahoma.

She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Wamego, Lutheran Women’s Mission League, American Legion Auxiliary and Women’s Bowling Assn. She also had served as a Girl Scout leader.

She married John Joseph Bellinger on Jan. 10, 1948, in Topeka. He died April 21, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Bellinger, Lawrence; a daughter, Roxie Peterson, Wamego; a brother, Richard D. Brunkow, Wamego; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
