She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Jamaica, N.Y., the daughter of William A. and Ethel Geneva (Cunningham) Spolasco. In 1997 she moved from Florida to Winchester, and in 1999 she moved to Topeka.

Mrs. Ellis was a department manager for Gimbell’s Department Store in New York. She retired after 15 years of service.

She married Raymond Herbert Ellis on Dec. 4, 1942, on Long Island, N.Y. He died June 21, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, William Ellis, Temple, N.H., and Mark Ellis, North Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Sandra Greenwell, Topeka; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

A son, Robert Ellis, died in 1960.
