Horseshoe state meet begins today in Lawrence

Approximately 130 competitors will be at Broken Arrow Park in Lawrence today, Sunday and Monday for the Kansas Horseshoe Pitching Championships.

Round-robin action will begin at 9 a.m. with the women and elders mixed preliminaries.

The women’s A and B finals will start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday along with junior boys A and B. Men’s C, D and E finals will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The top men’s division round-robin competition will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday along with the Men’s A, B division.

On Monday, the top women and junior boys championships will start at 8:30 a.m. with the three men’s division finals to follow at 8:30 a.m.

Lawrence hasn’t played host to the state horseshoe championships since 1992.
