Floersch Hole-in-One: Jay Floersch, a Kansas University student from Gardner, used a six-iron to ace the 126-yard No. 3 hole at Eagle Bend Golf Course last week. Witnesses were Bobby Edson and Adam Wright.

Naegele JGC Winner: Mike Naegele shot a 73 and won last Sunday’s Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by one stroke over Ron Huckfeldt. Van Reichert finished third with a 79. In the net portion, Dean Hilker carded a 70, Jim Currier had a 71 and Don Schulenberg shot 72.

Aquahawks Clinic: Anyone ages 6 to 15 interested in joining the Lawrence Aquahawks Swim Club is invited to a newcomers clinic at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 at the Indoor Aquatic Center adjacent to Free State High. For information, call the Aquahawks at 841-8891.

YABA Sign-Up: Lawrence Young American Bowling Alliance will have a sign-up session from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Royal Crest Lanes. League play will start on Sept. 7 and end in December.

Buchanan Ace: Joah Buchanan, a KU student from Eudora, used a seven-iron to record a hole-in-one on the 117-yard No. 8 hole last Sunday at the Orchards Golf Course. Witnesses were Chris Wiles, Bud Wiles and Mark Oertel.

Strikers Divide: Lawrence Strikers U-18 soccer team split a pair of matches last weekend in Olathe. Rebekah Berkley and Angie Brunfeldt scored goals for the Strikers.
