Light chance of rain in Lawrence’s forecast

More warm and sticky weather is in Lawrence’s forecast for Tuesday, with just a thin chance for rain.

“There’s a hope for an isolated thunderstorm later today,” Matt Makens, 6News meteorologist, said in his Tuesday morning forecast.

Makens said the chance for rain is 20 percent or less for Tuesday through the rest of the week.

“Right now, it’s dry and warming up as we’re heading toward Labor Day,” he said.

Tuesday afternoon’s high temperature will hit 90.

The Labor Day weekend temperatures will be in the upper 80s and low 90s, he said.

Tonight’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 60s and easterly winds around 10 mph.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, with highs in the mid 80s and east winds 5 to 10 mph.
