Josephine D. Wright

Mrs. Wright died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at her home.

She was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Amarillo, Tex., the daughter of Frank and Jennie Josephine (Cunningham) Davis. She lived in Washburn, Tex., before moving in 1928 to Lyon County. She spent most of her life in Osage City.

Mrs. Wright worked at Osage Bakery and various restaurants before working at Hallmark Paper Products in Osage City. She retired in 1980. She was a member of United Methodist Church and ladies auxiliary of Robert Heizer Post No. 198 of the American Legion, both in Osage City.

She married Harvey E. Wright on June 25, 1935, in Emporia. He died June 18, 1982. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Harvey Duane Wright, in 1936.

Survivors include a son, Leroy Wright, The Colony, Tex; a daughter, Sheila Curley, Osage City; a sister, Ida May Graves, Emporia; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
