Ilo Jean Stallard

? Services for Ilo Jean Stallard, 74, Topeka, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Topeka. A private graveside service will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.

Mrs. Stallard died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at a Topeka hospital.

She was born June 6, 1928, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Jessie Everett and Ethyl May (Hassinger) Smith. She graduated in 1946 from Parsons High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1967 from Pittsburg State University.

Mrs. Stallard was a teacher for the Columbus and Seaman unified school districts. She did clerical work for Hoss & Brown Engineers Inc. of Topeka. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Topeka and assisted with Let’s Help and Meals on Wheels. She was also a volunteer with Girl Scouts of America and Shawnee County Mental Health Hotline.

She married Phillip L. Stallard on April 24, 1948, in Parsons. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Lynn Stallard, Topeka, Gail Harry, Canton, Mich., and Janet Stallard, Lawrence; a son, Doug Stallard, Lake Jackson, Tex.; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, which is in charge of arrangements.
