E. Maxine Reed

Mrs. Reed died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Village Manor Nursing home, Ottawa.

She was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Quenemo, the daughter of Joseph Franklin and Clara Francis (Mumma) Elliott. She grew up in Richmond and attended Richmond High School with the class of 1933. She moved in 1934 to Ottawa.

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker. She also was an Avon representative for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Ottawa Free Methodist Church and attended Ottawa Church of the Nazarene and Ottawa Assembly of God.

She married Ernest Raymond Reed on April 23, 1934, in Ottawa. He died March 27, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Marks, Olathe, and Paulette Carlson, McLouth; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A son, Terry Elliott Reed, and a grandson died earlier.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to the service hour today at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, where family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
