Accidents

A 16-year-old Big Springs boy was injured about 10 p.m. Saturday when a 1999 Dodge pickup truck he was driving overturned along East 50 Road 1 1/2 miles south of Big Springs. Edwin Unfred walked to his nearby home and was then taken by air ambulance to Kansas University Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said he was released sometime later. Unfred was southbound on East 50 when he lost control of the truck, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

A 22-year-old Lawrence woman told Lawrence Police Aug. 13 that some one removed a stereo compact disc player and 65 compact discs from her car parked in the 4700 block of West 27th Street. Losses were listed at more than $1,000.

A 1990 Chrysler LaBaron was taken sometime Friday or Saturday from the 1300 block of West 24th Street, a 22-year-old Lawrence woman told police. The car was valued at $2,500.
