Pagan Pride Day to celebrate alternative spirituality

KC Pagan Pride Day 2002, a community festival celebrating alternative spirituality, will be from 10 a.m. to dusk Aug. 24 at Shawnee Mission Park Shelter No. 10, West 79th Street and Renner Road, Lenexa.

This year’s event is a fund-raiser for the Rose Brooks Center, a shelter serving women and children in domestic-abuse situations in Kansas City, Mo. There is no admission, but donations will be accepted.

Pagan Pride Day will feature several spirituality workshops about Wicca and paganism, a speaker from the Rose Brooks Center and live music by the band Spellbound.
