Ruth LaVerne Kahle

? She was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Council Grove, the daughter of John W. and Florence (Rutledge) Tally. She graduated from Council Grove High School and had lived in Big Springs since 1952.

Mrs. Kahle was involved in the family business, Marvin H. Kahle Excavating. She was also an active member of Big Springs United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She married Marvin H. Kahle on May 27, 1945, in Alta Vista. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Richard L. Kahle, Lawrence, Gary L. Kahle, Topeka, Gale D. Kahle, Osage City, and Randall D. Kahle, Big Springs; a sister, W. Phyrnne Pinkerston, Junction City; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A son, Marvin E. Kahle, died Aug. 29, 1961.

Friends may call after noon Friday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
