Arthur Kroeger

Services for Arthur Kroeger, 79, Lawrence, will be announced at a later date. His body has been donated to Kansas University Medical Center for research and teaching.

Mr. Kroeger died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community, from a prolonged neurological disorder.

He was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Ellis, the son of William and Clara (Irion) Kroeger. He had lived in Ellis until he moved to Lawrence in 1995.

Mr. Kroeger was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army from 1944 to 1946. He was a Tech 5 when he left the Army.

He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and past commander of Ellis VFW Post No. 9139.

He married Irene Armbrister in October 1946. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Melvin, Lawrence, and Glen, Zurich; a daughter, Linda Kroeger, Ellis; a brother, Elmer, Ord, Neb.; and six grandchildren.
