Aaron OK with Bonds

August 15, 2002

— Home run king Hank Aaron doesn't mind if Barry Bonds passes his total.

"I've been out of baseball since 1976, so I've held the record long enough," Aaron said in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday. "Records are made to be broken."

Bonds hit his 600th career home run last week, and Aaron, an Atlanta Braves executive, said the San Francisco Giants slugger will likely surpass his long-standing record of 755 career homers.
