Big 12 All-Stars beat Swedes

KU's Nash goes scoreless in 95-77 victory

Oklahoma State’s Ivan McFarlin scored 16 points and Kansas State’s Pervis Pasco 14 in the Big 12 All-Stars’ 95-77 men’s basketball victory against the Sodertalje Kings Thursday at Talje Gymnasium in Sodertalje, Sweden.

It was the second win in as many days for the All-Stars, a 12-man squad made up of one player from each Big 12 Conference school.

Kansas’ Bryant Nash missed his only shot attempt and didn’t score one day after scoring nine points in the All-Stars’ tour-opening victory. Pasco contributed 11 rebounds and McFarlin 10.

The All-Stars have a day off for travel today, before back-to-back games against the Norwegian National Team Saturday and Sunday in Oslo.

KU’s men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 4 at Kansas City’s Kemper Arena will be dubbed the “Feist Shootout,” as Feist Publications, Inc. has agreed to be the title sponsor for the event. The Jayhawk women play Georgia State at 11:30 a.m., followed by the KU men taking on UMKC at 2 p.m.

David Padgett, 6-11 basketball prospect from Reno, Nev., visited KU last April. This weekend, his parents will visit KU’s campus.

“David said so many wonderful things about Lawrence and asked us if we would visit, so we are,” Padgett’s dad, Pete, told Shay Wildeboor of rivals.com.

Padgett has visited KU, Arizona and Stanford and definitely will visit North Carolina in September. He’s also considering Oregon, Louisville and Cal.
