Yarn donations sought to outfit students

The Knitters and Crocheters Group is requesting donations of yarn to make hats and mittens for children in the Head Start program.

The hats and mittens will be distributed in early October to children living in Douglas, Jefferson and Shawnee counties.

Donations may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, 1720 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka.

The group will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at JAAA.

JAAA is funded through individual contributions and the Older Americans Act, Administration on Aging, Kansas Department of Aging, state of Kansas and local governments.
