Kansas splits two with NU

— Cole Armstrong had three RBIs and Ryan Baty added two RBIs and scored three runs as Kansas University pounded Nebraska, 14-1, in the first game of their doubleheader Sunday.

Jed Morris' eighth-inning grand slam led Nebraska to a 9-1 win in the nightcap.

Ryan Klocksien had four of the Jayhawks' 17 hits in the opener and scored three runs. Kevin Wheeler, Spanish and Baty each had three hits for the Jayhawks.

Baty and Klocksien both homered.

Matt Hopper led Nebraska (30-15, 14-10) with three hits, including a two-run homer in the third when the Cornhuskers scored all their runs.

By then, Kansas (17-23, 4-16 Big 12) led 7-0.

Dan Olson (4-3) pitched 82*3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with three strikeouts to win.

Jamie Rodrigue (5-2) lost after giving up six runs on four hits in 11*3 innings.

Casey Spanish had three hits in the second game for the Jayhawks.

Jake Wright (2-5) lost after giving up three runs on four hits in six innings.

The teams scheduled the doubleheader after Saturday's single game was rained out.
