Kansas golf finishes last at Big 12

? Kansas University finished last in the Big 12 women’s golf championships after Sunday’s final round at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

The Jayhawks, who completed their second round Sunday morning because of Saturday’s rain delay, closed with a three-round total of 989 on the 6,008-yard, par-72 course.

“We had a good year, but a disappointing end of the season with the Big 12 finish,” KU coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. “We were good in one of three days, but that just wasn’t enough to make a jump in the field.”

KU posted its lowest score (321) during the second round. Juniors Heather Rose and Jill MacDonald each carded 78s before taking an hour break prior to the final round.

Oklahoma State won its second straight Big 12 championship with a total of 909 strokes. Oklahoma was second at 912, followed by Texas at 921.

Rose led the Jayhawks with a share of 32nd place after shooting a 238.
