Frances Lenora Glad

She was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Aurora, Neb., the daughter of F. Oscar and Esther Sabina (Gustafson) Elge. She was a graduate of Aurora High School.

Before her marriage, she worked as an accountant at Gold’s, Lincoln, Neb., and for Hamilton County Judge Ivan Bergtson.

She was a member of Polk Evangelical Free Church, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for more than 30 years. She was also a youth group leader, 4-H club leader and member of the Gideons Auxiliary. She transferred her church membership to the Evangelical Free Church of Central City when she moved there in 1996.

She married Gordon Edwin Glad on April 15, 1950, in Lincoln. They farmed near Polk until his death Oct. 29, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Sasek, Livonia, Mich., and Leanne Schlife, Lawrence, Kan.; a son, Mark Glad, Prairie Village, Kan.; two sisters, Anna Marie Moore, Aurora, and Lois Paschke, Aurora; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Solt Funeral Home, Central City.
