Lawrence this Saturday will play host to the first state powerlifting meet in four years.

USA Powerlifting’s state meet will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ramada Inn, 2222 West Sixth St. Organizers expect around 20 competitors for the event, which will feature both the state championships and an open division for regional competitors.
