April 17, 2002

David Allen went 2-for-2 with an RBI, Cassidy Thompson was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI and David Arndt slugged two doubles in four at bats for the Firebirds (5-4).

"Leavenworth is a good club. They had quality pitching. Defensively they made plays. The credit goes to them."

FSHS, ranked No. 7 in Class 6A, will meet Grandview (Mo.) in the River City Classic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Kansas University's Hoglund Ballpark.
