School transfers
To the editor:
I applaud the Lawrence school board for trying to enact the concept of neighborhood schools (“District may tighten policy on school transfers,” April 14). I wish they had had the same philosophy two years ago when they changed the elementary school boundaries. They moved dozens of children from our neighborhood school Sunflower, one mile away to Broken Arrow, which is more than three miles away. I guess our timing was off.
