road game postponed

? The streak got a little soggy.

Rain finally slowed down the Cleveland Indians, whose 10-game winning streak was on hold after their series finale against the Kansas City Royals was postponed by bad weather.

No makeup date was announced.

Cleveland (11-1), off to its best start since 1966, will have an off day today before opening a four-game series Tuesday at Chicago.

The Tribe’s stats are scary:

l 6-0 at home. 9-0 in the AL Central.

l Starters are 10-0 with a 3.88 ERA, and until Ryan Drese’s outing  41¼3 innings on Saturday  each has pitched at least into the sixth inning of every game.

l The bullpen is unscored upon in 15 straight innings, and has the AL’s second-lowest ERA (1.80).

l The staff has a league-best 3.20 ERA.

l And the offense, which was supposed to sputter without Roberto Alomar and Juan Gonzalez, entered Sunday leading the league in runs, homers, total bases and walks.

The Royals are also off today and will play Tuesday at Minnesota. Manager Tony Muser said Dan Reichert will be pushed back and start the opener against Twins right-hander Rick Reed. Paul Byrd faces Brad Radke on Wednesday and Jeff Suppan will pitch the finale against Eric Milton.
