NBA Roundup: Portland nips Lakers

? The Trail Blazers staged two thrilling comebacks to beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 128-120, in double overtime Sunday.

Bonzi Wells scored 33 points, and his steal from Kobe Bryant led to a dunk that broke a 115-all tie in the second overtime.

Rasheed Wallace added 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Damon Stoudamire had 18 points and 12 assists for the Blazers, who are locked into the sixth spot in the Western Conference.

Bucks 98, Hornets 91

Milwaukee  Ray Allen scored a career-high 47 points thanks to a club-record 10 3-pointers.

The Bucks snapped a five-game losing skid and won for just the fifth time in 20 games.

The Bucks (40-40) are scrapping with Toronto and Indiana for the final two playoff spots in the East. Milwaukee owns tiebreakers over both the Raptors and Pacers.

Allen, whose previous best was 43 points, topped the franchise mark of nine 3s, set two months ago by guard Michael Redd.

Pacers 86, Wizards 80

Washington  Jermaine O’Neal scored 26 points, and Reggie Miller hit a big 3-pointer with 3 minutes left for the Pacers.

O’Neal was 10-for-18 from the field, 6-for-9 from the free-throw line and had eight rebounds and three assists. He an assist to Brad Miller and a transition layup that started a 10-0 run to put Indiana ahead 80-72 with 5:25 left in the game.

76ers 95, Magic 89

Orlando, Fla. Â Despite missing three injured starters, Philadelphia clinched a postseason berth behind Eric Snow’s 22 points and Dikembe Mutombo’s 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The 76ers have won three straight games and tied Orlando for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

Raptors 101, Nets 82

Toronto  Morris Peterson scored 24 points as Toronto held onto sole possession of seventh place in the Eastern Conference with a rout of the Nets.

Antonio Davis added 14 points for the Raptors, who remain a game ahead of Indiana and Milwaukee for the final two playoff spots.

Grizzlies 98, Rockets 95

Houston  Shane Battier scored 19 points, and Will Solomon and Stromile Swift made key free throws in the final four seconds as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the depleted Houston Rockets 98-95 Sunday night.

Pau Gasol had 18 points and Rodney Buford 14 for the Grizzlies.

Knicks 94, Heat 67

Miami  Kurt Thomas scored 20 points and Allan Houston added 19.

The Knicks were playing without suspended guard Latrell Sprewell, who had started every game this season, but missed the morning shootaround.

Mavericks 113, Kings 100

Sacramento, Calif. Â Nick Van Exel scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter as Dallas became the only opponent to win twice at Arco Arena this season, snapping the NBA-leading Kings’ 11-game winning streak.

Raef LaFrentz had 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Steve Nash had 21 points.
