Geraldine E. Boehle

She was born May 28, 1921, in Douglas County, the daughter of Walter George Oehrle and Lulu Celestia (Ruggles) Oehrle. She was raised north of Globe and attended schools in the Globe community. She graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in elementary education.

Mrs. Boehle taught for two years in Cherryvale and for four years in Ottawa. She also dairy farmed in southern Douglas County with her husband.

She was a member of the Indian Hills Church of God.

She married Gerald Richard Boehle on June 21, 1949, in Ottawa. He died April 18, 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Sack, rural Baldwin; two sisters, Janice Johnson, Fairfax, Va., and Margaret Glover, Dallas; and one grandson.

A granddaughter, Tammy Coltrane, died in February 1999.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time.

The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or to Indiana HIlls Church of God, sent in care of the funeral home.
