Overland Park ? Free State High won six singles matches and two doubles matches to roll to an 8-1 boys tennis victory over Shawnee Mission South on Wednesday.

Alan Martinez, Ben Cropp, Matt Schwabauer, Eyad Safadi, Eric Sheu and Rishi Surana won singles matches to help Free State beat the Raiders for the first time ever.

Cropp and Schwabauer teamed for a win at No. 1 doubles to improve to 7-0. Nick Potter and Drew Smith won No. 3 doubles for Free State.

“I’m happy to have won, but we will continue to improve and play more confidently with each event,” FSHS coach Jon Renberger said.
