Beverly Mae King

Plainfield, N.J. Private services for Beverly Mae King, 69, Plainfield, are planned.

Mrs. King died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield.

She was born in 1932 in Merriam, Kan., the daughter of Howard Sr. and Ruth (James) Estelle.

Mrs. King lived in Lawrence, Kan., until she joined the U.S. Army. She had lived in Jersey City until moving to Plainfield in 1970.

She retired from Plainfield Housing Authority in 1997.

Mrs. King was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Plainfield.

She married Leonard D. King Jr. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Darryl Estelle, Demopolis, Ala., and Leonard D. King III, Lyndhurst; two daughters, Gladys Atkins, Helmetta, and Claire Richardson, Eatontown; four sisters, Karlene Moore and Loretta Carraher, Topeka, Kan., and Ermal Shephard and Lynn Estelle, both of Lawrence, Kan.; three brothers, Norman “Tony” Estelle and Kenneth Estelle, both of Lawrence, and Everett Estelle, San Jose, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
