At 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Lied Center, Brian Priestman will conduct the Kansas University Concert Orchestra in two symphonies Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 in B flat major and, joined by the KU Choirs, the monumental Resurrection Symphony by Gustav Mahler.

Only one more weekend remains, May 4 and 5, in which you can see and hear this world-class conductor wield his baton in Lawrence before retiring from KU as artist-in-residence.

Our Jayhawk basketball team deserves the welcome and support regularly given it by thousands of fans. It would be wonderful to see the music fans of Lawrence fill the 2,000-plus Lied Center seats in support and appreciation of Brian Priestman and the KU Concert Orchestra on Friday and May 4 or 5.
