To the editor:
As Americans we feel depressed, hurt, angry, fearful and untrusting. We feel violated because of Sept. 11. This didn't happen because of our sins. Bad things happen to good people all the time. We are NOT at war with any particular country, only the terrorists. Bush said that he hopes Afghanistan will cooperate and help us find Bin Laden and his terrorists.
We should pray each day for peace and justice. This is not a "holy war" nor a war of vengence and hate. It is a war of protection against terrorists. Hateful remarks against Islamic people don't help, but the reason is fear and distrust because our government found infiltraton by Muslims in various airlines, etc. We must control our anger as we do in not having road rage.
Assume all people are good, unless you know of some covert activity to report to the FBI or your local police. Display your flag, if you have one. Light a candle and pray for protection and peace each day. God promised, "I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world."
