Ties to God

To the editor:

Who is this God that you are wanting to bless America. Since the trade towers were destroyed you see these words everywhere you turn. It seems to me that there is so much ignorance about God these days. I'm surprised that the concept still exists. It seems that now days God can be anything and all things and nothing in particular. Is that true? I think not.

It seems to me that America as a whole, has been very busy trying to get God out of America. And now you want him to bless America. Why should he do that? We allow all the things that he says not to allow. And not only do we allow them but we do them as well.

The God that I understand to be God says not to allow those with familiar spirits, but we do, and we seek them for advice. We call them psychics. He says man is not to lay with man, yet we call this "alternative lifestyle." He says not to kill, yet because of the hardness of our hearts, how many children have been aborted.

Of course, this list could go on and on and on. And you know I don't see myself as perfect. In fact I believe my life has offended God greatly. The thing is, I can't justify my actions against the truth of what God says. That is of course if God is real. And yes I believe He is.

America, I think we are in trouble. As we have rejected God at every turn in favor of what we want. You know the things we lust after.

I, for one, believe that America became a great country because of our relationship with God. And I believe we will be doomed if we continue to reject God. So, what makes you think that there is a possibility that God will bless a nation that has rejected Him?

One thing I would mention is that I'm aware of the ignorance taught in the name of God. In fact I think that many people who claim to teach God only want your money. But that doesn't make God any less real; it just makes them wrong. And they will answer for their crimes as well.

Oh, by the way, I don't expect to be popular for this opinion either. So think what you like. I already know how you are.

Lawrence
