FIRST QUARTER

8:57 -- Jeff Cauble 14 fumble return. On fourth-and-15 from the Firebirds' 24-yard line following Free State's first possession, FSHS punter Walker Douglas couldn't catch a low snap and tried to smother the ball at the 14, but Cauble snatched the fumble and scored. Run failed. (Olathe East 6, Free State 0).

:12 -- W. Douglas 15 run. Two big plays on fourth downs aided the Firebirds. On fourth-and-eighth with Douglas punting from Free State's 46, Olathe East was called for clipping, enabling the Firebirds to maintain possession. On fourth-and-seven at O-East's 36, the Firebirds showed punt, but Bobby Blevins took the snap and gained 19 yards for a first down, keeping the drive alive. Three plays later Douglas scored.
