Robert and Emma Erickson, Perry, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family gathering.

They were married Sept. 27, 1941, in Cheyenne, Wyo. They owned Erickson Trucking. The are both retired.

The couple has three children, Lori Kukuk, McLouth; the late Robert Erickson Jr.; and the late Ronald Erickson.

They have seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The couple request no gifts.


Don and Wanda Davis, Mountain Harbor, Ark., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 17-19 in Mountain Harbor, Ark.

The weekend celebration was hosted by their children, Roger and Janet Davis, Boston, and Rod Davis, Tyler, Tex.

Wanda Fay Smith and Donald W. Davis were married Oct. 6, 1951, near their home in Arkansas. After getting married, they moved to DeSoto, where Don was employed at the Sunflower Ordinance Plant. They then moved to Lawrence, where they resided until 1999.

Don was a longtime employee of Reuter Organ Co. and Dillons. Wanda was a buyer and manager of the women's department at Weaver's for many years and retired in 1999. The Davises moved to the resort community of Mountain Harbor, Ark., in 1999.

The couple has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


James and Norma Groom, Bonner Springs, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows Oct. 20 in Bonner Springs.

Norma Baird and James Groom were married Dec. 27, 1951.

James graduated from Gower High School in Missouri and served in the Korean War. He was employed by Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.

Norma also is a graduate of Gower High School. She was employed at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and later worked in retail at Wehner's IGA in Sunflower Village and then at Bob's Thriftway in DeSoto.

The couple has four daughters, Carol Kieffaber, Shawnee; Jackie Clark, Eudora; Pam Bryant, Rapleje, Mont.; and Rhonda DeHaven, Sedalia, Mo. They also have 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of gifts, the family would like written memories, copies of photos or cards for a memory book sent to: Sue Cooper, P.O. Box 533, Eudora 66025.


David and Gay Hadl will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29 in Building 2 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. Friends and family are invited.

Gay Stevens and David Hadl were married Oct. 2, 1976, in Independence, Mo.

The couple request no gifts.


Larry and Judy Warren, Lawrence, will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 23 at The Lodge, 502 Ames St., Baldwin.

They were married Sept. 10, 1976, in Lawrence.

The event will be hosted by their children, Mark and Linda Warren, and David and Jeanne Nottingham, all of Lawrence; and five grandchildren.
