Mrs. Erskin died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1931, in South Mound, the daughter of Thomas Vern and Ida Elizabeth (Stinson) Holden. She graduated from Mont Rose High School, Mont Rose, Mo. She moved to Parsons and then to Lawrence in 1955.
Mrs. Erskin worked in the rework department at King Radio for more than 11 years.
She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Parsons and AARP. She was a volunteer at Penn House.
She married Chester Lee Erskin on July 3, 1952, in Parsons. He died May 26, 1989.
Survivors include three sons, Edward L. Erskin and Vernon W. Erskin, both of Lawrence, and Thomas R. Erskin, Eudora; three daughters, Mary E. Wilson, Perry, Shirley A. Skeet, Lawrence, and Margaret A. Reeves, Oskaloosa; a brother, William V. Holden, Lawrence; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
