A 1994 Pontiac Grand Am valued at $6,000 was taken between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Thursday, a Lawrence Police report said. It had been parked in the 1400 block of Pinewood Drive, a 25-year-old man reported to the police.
A Ping golf bag, several golf clubs, golf balls and clothing were taken sometime Aug. 23 from a residence in the 900 block of Indiana Street, a Lawrence Police report said. A 20-year-old man reported the theft. Losses were listed at $761.
A Sony walkman, a 14-karat diamond necklace and other jewelry items were taken between March 16 and March 26 from a residence in the 1800 block of Naismith Drive, a police report said. A 19-year-old woman reported the theft Thursday. Losses were listed at $795.
A 22-year-old Lawrence man reported that a stereo system including a CD player, amplifiers and speakers was stolen between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday from Mike's Transmission, 956 N. Third St. A Lawrence Police report listed the stereo's value at $2,500.
Someone broke a window about 7:45 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 900 block of West 29th Terrace, a Lawrence Police report said. Damage listed at $100, the report said.
Someone caused $700 damage to an 8-foot by 16-foot concrete driveway in the 1700 block of Atherton Court, a Lawrence Police report said. Habitat for Humanity owns the lot and reported the damage, which occurred between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday.
A 52-year-old Lawrence man told Lawrence Police that a manager at Emerson Biggins, 3512 Clinton Parkway, pushed him to the floor Friday after a verbal disagreement. The man and his wife were eating lunch at the restaurant and couldn't hear a nearby television airing news about Tuesday's terrorist attacks because of a loud juke box in the restaurant, Lawrence Police said. When the man asked a manager to turn down the music, a verbal spat ensued, during which the man asked the manager whether he valued his freedom. The manager asked the man and woman to finish their drinks and leave. On the way out of the restaurant, the woman stopped to ask people at another table what was happening on the news, the man claims the manager pushed her with his stomach. Then, the man and the manager exchanged words, and the man claims the manager pushed him onto the floor. Police are investigating the incident.
A 50-year-old Lecompton woman was injured Saturday after a one-vehicle accident south of Lawrence. Cheryl Evilsizor and her husband, Lawrence, 61, were southbound on U.S. Highway 59, 1 mile south of the Douglas-Franklin County line, when their 1998 Buick Regal hydroplaned on the rainy road and went into the east ditch. Cheryl Evilsizor was taken by ambulance to Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, then transferred to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Her condition was unavailable Saturday night. The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m.
Cassie Weeks, the 13-year-old Oskaloosa girl injured in a car accident Sept. 11 on 70th Street about a mile west of U.S. Highway 59 in Jefferson County, was in critical condition Saturday night at Stormont-Vail.
