Tokyo Tuffy Rhodes, already approaching the Japanese home run record, set a Pacific League record Monday by scoring his 127th run of the season.

Rhodes, who last played in the majors in 1995, broke the mark of 126 set by Michihiro Ogasawara last season. The Japanese record of 143 was set by Makoto Kozuru in 1950.

With 14 games left this season, Rhodes has 53 homers. The Kintetsu Buffaloes star needs three more to break the Japanese record of 55 set by Sadaharu Oh in 1964.
