Mass of Christian Burial for Martin C. Erazmus, 39, Portland, Ore., will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Erazmus died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, in Colusa, Calif., after a truck accident. He was a lifelong Lawrence resident before moving to Portland in 1988.
He was born March 27, 1962, in Humbolt, Tenn., the son of Edward and Dorothy Erazmus. He graduated from Perry-Lecompton High School in 1980. He also attended Kansas University.
Mr. Erazmus was a truck driver for Mercer Industries in Portland.
He married Maria DeJoode on Oct. 24, 1993. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents; a daughter, Corin Erazmus, Portland; two sons, Brandon and Samuel, Portland; three sisters, May Chilcoat, Eudora, Maria Gibson and Le-Thu Erazmus, both of Lawrence; and a brother, Joseph, Lawrence.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rosary prayer service will be at 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Birth Right, sent in care of the mortuary.
