Wichita Crop conditions remained relatively unchanged as the harvest continues statewide, Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service said Monday.
In its weekly crop weather report, the agency said 21 percent of the Kansas corn crop has been harvested. The crop's condition was rated 20 percent poor or very poor, 32 percent fair condition, 40 percent good and 8 percent excellent.
The milo harvest is gaining speed, with 19 percent of the crop now cut. The crop was rated 10 percent very poor, 16 percent poor, 34 percent fair, 36 percent good and 4 percent excellent.
Meanwhile, the state's soybean crop continues to set pods. About 5 percent was rated as very poor, 18 percent poor, 40 percent fair, 31 percent good and 6 percent excellent.
About 6 percent of the Kansas sunflower crop has been harvested. Crop condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 32 percent fair, 52 percent good and 8 percent excellent.
