Mr. Arment died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at St. Mary's Mercy Health Center, Enid.

He was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Carl Junction, Mo., the son of John Arthur and Freda Rena (Sparks) Arment. He graduated from Carl Junction High School and attended Joplin Business College.

Mr. Arment served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a truck driver in New Guinea. He started out in 1951 as a stock boy for S.S. Kresge in Joplin, Mo., and worked for 40 years. He was promoted to assistant manager, traveling all over the United States, opening Kresges and Kmart stores. He retired in 1991 from Kmart Distribution Center, Lawrence, Kan.

He married Margie Eilene (Alice) Bowling March 31, 1946. She died earlier.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Arment and Victoria Arment, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 7 a.m. to service time today at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials in his name to Hospice Circle of Love, sent in care of the funeral home, 2800 N. Van Buren, PO Box 3501, Enid, Okla., 73702.
