KU golf briefs

Jonesborough, Tenn. -- Kansas University's men's golf team was in 11th place Saturday after two rounds of the Ridges Intercollegiate tournament.

Texas Christian led with 554 strokes. KU was 35 shots back with 589.

KU's Chris Marshall was tied for 28th overall with 145 strokes. He shot a 69 in the first round and 76 in the second round.

TCU's Adam Rubinson led with 133 strokes.

The tournament will end with 18 holes today.

KU women in 13th

Myrtle Beach, S.C. -- Kansas University's women's golf team was in 13th place out of 31 schools Saturday at the Bay Tree Classic.

The Jayhawks had a two-round total of 644 strokes.

Junior Jill MacDonald led KU with rounds of 81 and 79 for a 160 total. She was in 41st place.

North Carolina-Wilmington leads with 617 strokes and East Carolina is second at 619.

The third and final round is scheduled for today.
