— Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett won their first Grand Slam title, beating Donald Johnson and Jared Palmer on Friday in the final of the U.S. Open doubles.

The Zimbabwean pair, seeded 14th, beat the second-seeded Americans 7-6 (9), 2-6, 6-3.

Wimbledon champs Johnson and Palmer, the only doubles team to compete in the final of two Grand Slam tournaments this year, had a set point at 8-7 in the tiebreaker of the first set, but Ullyett fought it off with a lob.
