Gary Tanner knew it wouldn't be easy when he started a men's soccer program at Haskell Indian Nations University this season.

"We have only four people with experience and only 13 on our roster," Tanner said. "And two of them are injured."

Haskell played its first match ever on Wednesday in Lindsborg, bowing to Bethany College, 13-1.

Daniel Dyer scored the Fightin' Indians' goal on an assist from Jacob Trickey. Goalie Asa Williamson had 26 saves.

Haskell's next match will be on Saturday at York, Neb., College. The home opener will be on Sept. 26 against Sterling College.
