She was born in the Lone Rock community of Baxter County, Ark., the daughter of William H. and Bertha A. (Havner) Lane. She grew up in Baxter County, Ark., attending school at Pleasant Room School near Norfork, Ark. She lived in Mountain Home, Ark., until 1952 when she moved to Baldwin.
Mrs. Cowart was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit No. 0228. She was active in many functions at Baldwin Care Center.
She married William Cowart on Nov. 17, 1945, in Cotter, Ark. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Judy Morris, Baldwin, and Robin Clevenger, Lawrence; a son, Keith Cowart, Baldwin; two brothers, Dean Lane, Lindale, Tex.; Junior Lane, Fort Worth, Tex.; a sister, Jewel McNeil, Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Jane Cowart, died earlier.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday.
