Denver Denver Broncos wide receiver Eddie Kennison was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors Sunday morning after a dispute with a security guard at a Baton Rouge nightclub, police said.
Kennison said he was handcuffed and detained at a police precinct for about three hours after he argued with the security guard at Club Raggs. He was charged with inciting to riot and two other misdemeanors relating to his refusal to leave the club's property, police spokesman Don Kelly said.
"He had an entourage with him and ... he was trying to get his entourage all riled up," Kelly said. "He just would not leave and he would not do anything to comply with the officer's instructions."
Kelly said he wasn't sure why Kennison was issued a summons and released instead of being booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Kennison, a standout at LSU who played for the New Orleans Saints in 1999, was in Baton Rouge to attend Saturday's Tulane-LSU game.
