The 2001 Achievement Banquet is scheduled for Oct. 21 at the KU Union Ballroom. Lunch will begin about 12:30 p.m. The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $7.50 per person. Community leaders and members who complete and turn in their personal page and permanent record will receive free tickets.

Members of the 4-H Council shared comments about this year's fair. Members discussed the new llama show, having the sheep back in the old barns and the petting zoo. Cathy Musick said the Fair Board is discussing having next year's fair run from Tuesday to Sunday.

Members discussed having a Friendship Night. The event would focus on 4-H recruitment with current 4-H parents, families and supporters providing information to prospective members.

The 100th anniversary of 4-H will be celebrated during 4-H week, Oct. 7-13.

The council voted to give $200 for expenses of each of the two 4-H members who will attend the National 4-H Congress.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 29.
